U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Carlos A. Ruiz, the 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, hosts the 2025 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Symposium in Washington D.C., and Annapolis, Maryland, July 14-18, 2025. From across the force, over 60 senior enlisted leaders and their spouses gathered to discuss troop welfare, manpower, training and education, leadership, and policy. Throughout the week, the symposium received remarks from a range of senior leaders and speakers including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Strategy, Mr. Eric J.
