U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Carlos A. Ruiz, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, addresses Marines and Sailors of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), during an all-hands formation aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Souda Bay, Greece, March 1, 2024. The 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps visited the forward deployed 26th MEU(SOC) and met with leadership while also hosting discussions with Marines and Sailors. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, with the embarked 26th MEU(SOC) is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests.
