The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, addresses Marines attending the First Sergeant Symposium at Marine Corps Forces Reserve, New Orleans, La, Feb. 4, 2021. The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps conducted the visit to speak with Staff-Non Commissioned Officer leadership about his priorities for the next 12 months and answer any questions. Marine Forces Reserve organizes, mans, equips, trains, and sustains more than 40,000 Drilling Reserve Marines and some 60,000 Individual Ready Reserve Marines to support Theater Security Cooperation Exercises and Overseas Contingency Operation requirements.
