The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, speaks with Marines attending The Basic School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, V.A., Nov. 2, 2020. During the visit Black discussed the relationship between officers and Staff Non-Commissioned officers that creates strong command teams capable of leading Marines with high morale and motivation. The Basic School educates newly commissioned or appointed officers in the high standards of professional knowledge, esprit-de-corps, and leadership to prepare them for duty in the operating forces.
