The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black greets Drill Instructors with 1st Recruit Training Battalion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina, July 22, 2020. During the visit Sgt. Maj. Black toured the training facilities to observe changes made keep recruits and Drill Instructors safe during COVID-19 restrictions. The changes include the use of face masks when less than six feet apart, and smaller platoon sizes in addition to the 14 days of restriction of movement before new recruits start training.
