The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Troy E. Black, greets Marine Corps historian, Ms. Annette Amerman during a visit with the Marine Corps History Division (HD) at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va, June 15, 2020. The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps conducted the visit to discuss the importance of HD’s mission to research and write the Marine Corps’ official history. HD also provides reference and research assistance; preserves personal experiences and observations through oral history interviews; and deploys field historians to record history in the making.
